San Francisco, August 31, 2026 – The global smart ring market continued its rapid expansion in Q2 2026, with shipments growing 85% year-over-year, according to the latest estimates from Smart Analytics Global (SAG)’s Wearable 360 service. Growth remained strong from a relatively low base, driven by rising consumer awareness of sleep, recovery and preventive health, as well as growing demand for discreet, screen-free wearable devices.

Key Takeaways:

  • Global smart ring shipments grew 85% YoY in Q2 2026, while trade wholesale revenue increased 113% YoY.
  • Oura strengthened its dominance, capturing approximately 85% of shipments and 92% of industry wholesale revenue.
  • North America remained the largest market, accounting for approximately 70% of global shipments, followed by Western Europe at 18%.
  • SAG forecasts global shipments to reach 6.0 million units in 2026 (+47% YoY) and 7.7 million in 2027 (+29%).

Oura remained overwhelmingly dominant, accounting for approximately roughly 85.0% of global shipments, followed by RingConn at around 3.4% and Ultrahuman at 2.7%. Oura’s shipments grew approximately 146% YoY, supported by its strong brand, health-tracking ecosystem, subscription model, expanding retail presence and geographic expansion.

“The smart ring market is still a relatively young category, but its growth trajectory is quite strong. Oura’s scale is particularly notable, it is not only leading shipments but also capturing a disproportionately large share of industry revenue,” said Abhilash Kumar, Lead Research Advisor (Director), Smart Analytics Global.

Oura’s expansion into India, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and the UAE, alongside its expanding product portfolio, has helped the company tap into new sources of demand. SAG forecast Oura to remain the clear global market leader through 2026 and 2027, despite increasing competition from RingConn, Ultrahuman, Samsung and other emerging players.

The concentration of the market is also evident in revenue. Global smart ring trade wholesale revenue grew 112.6% YoY. Oura accounted for approximately 92% of industry wholesale revenue during the quarter.

“What is interesting about smart rings is that consumers are increasingly looking for technology that does more without demanding more attention. The combination of a minimal form factor, passive health tracking and multi-day battery life is giving the category a distinct proposition versus traditional screen-based wearables,” said Linda Sui, Founder and Principal as Smart Analytics Global (SAG).

North America Remains the Largest Market

North America accounted for approximately 70% of global smart ring shipments in Q2 2026. High consumer purchasing power, greater awareness of health and wellness tracking, and stronger retail and distribution networks continue to make the region the category’s largest market.

Western Europe followed with approximately 18% share, supported by health-conscious consumers and premium wearable adoption. Adoption remains significantly lower across emerging markets, where awareness of smart rings is still developing.

India remains an early-stage opportunity. Local brands such as boAt are present, but affordability, awareness and consumer education remain challenges, while premium offerings from Oura and Gabit remain relatively expensive for the mass market.

“India has the ingredients to become an important smart ring market over time, but the category is still far from mainstream. Pricing is one challenge, but awareness is an equally important barrier. Brands will need to communicate the everyday health benefits of smart rings much more effectively before adoption can move beyond early adopters,” Kumar said.

Market Forecasted to Approach 6 million Units in 2026

SAG forecasts the strong momentum to continue through the remainder of the year. Global smart ring shipments are forecast to rise from 4.1 million units in 2025 to 6.0 million units in 2026, representing 47% annual growth. Shipments are believed to reach 7.7 million units in 2027, another 29% increase.

New product launches, broader offline retail distribution, improving consumer awareness and increasing integration with smartphones, smartwatches and digital-health platforms are expected to remain key growth drivers.

“We believe the smart ring category is moving from an enthusiast product toward a broader health and wellness platform. The next phase of competition will not be decided by hardware alone. Accuracy, software intelligence, AI-driven insights, ecosystem integration, pricing and distribution will increasingly determine which brands can scale,” added Sui.

SAG forecasts Oura, Samsung, RingConn, Ultrahuman and Femometer to form the leading vendor group through 2027, although Oura’s lead is believed to remain substantial, thanks to early mover advantage. Samsung is forecasted to see a significant shipment recovery in 2027 as its next major product cycle takes effect.

At the same time, the category’s expansion beyond direct-to-consumer channels is becoming increasingly important. Offline retail, operator stores, consumer electronics retailers, healthcare channels and fitting experiences could help overcome one of the key barriers to smart ring adoption: sizing and the need for consumers to experience the product before purchase.

SAG has newly published the “SAG Smart Ring Vendor Share and Value Share by Region Intelligence: August 2026 Edition” report, which not just talks about shipment numbers but also whole sale ASP and revenue for 14 countries/regions.
