As per estimates from SAG Wearables 360 service, Vietnam manufactured 62% of global Apple AirPods TWS shipments in Q1 2026. This was followed by China at 34% and India at 4%. While the assembling share of Vietnam and China has declined, India has gained share.
Exhibit 1: Apple Airpods TWS Manufacture Share by Country 2024-Q1 2026

In 2025, Vietnam’s share of global AirPods manufacturing increased from 51% in 2024 to 64% in 2025. However, in Q1 2026, the country lost some share to India manufacturing. The northern part of Vietnam has Luxshare ICT and Goertek as among the key manufacturing partners. Northern Vietnam because of its close proximity with China and also because of the water ports like Hai Phong making export easy.
Talking about China, it remained the dominant hub for AirPods assembly until 2023. The country still continues to dominate in terms of component ecosystem and rare earth material supply like dysprosium and neodymium which are required for Airpods magnet. This makes it the most important market in the supply chain and overall manufacturing despite reduced assembly share. China’s assembly share declined from 49% in 2024 to 35% in 2025 and further to 34% in Q1 2026. Luxshare ICT, Goertek and Inventec remain the major manufacturing partners in the country.
Apple AirPods TWS manufacturing in India reached 4% of global shipments in Q1 2026, up from 1% in 2025. While the 4% share remains relatively small at this stage, the country holds significant long-term potential. Apple has been actively diversifying assembly operations beyond China and Vietnam into India, driven by the country’s cost-effective skilled labor base and government incentives that help reduce manufacturing costs. As of now, Foxconn Hyderabad remains the key manufacturing partner with limited assembly lines, although ongoing assembly area expansion and aggressive hiring activity indicate an optimistic outlook going forward. Telangana Government has played a key role in smoother and faster allocation of land for the factory. The Indian government’s Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme provides incentives for making components in India.
To summarize, Apple does not want to rely on one country for assembly to avoid any political risk amid trade wars. Hence, it has diversified the assembly line. China does the heavy lifting in component sourcing, while Vietnam dominates the assembly. India is new to the business but has grown quickly since 2025 and also holds a lot of potential for the future.
