SAG: China Becomes the World’s Largest Market for iPhone 17 Series in Q4 2025

Author: Linda Sui

Smart Analytics Global (SAG) reports that Apple delivered a record-breaking quarter in China in Q4 2025, up 27% year over year and capturing 23% market share. This marks the strongest quarterly iPhone performance ever recorded in the Chinese smartphone market.

According to SAG tracking, the newly launched iPhone 17 series alone shipped 15.4 million units in China during the quarter, making China the world’s largest single-country market for the iPhone 17 family. This puts China ahead of the United States, which generated 15.2 million units of iPhone 17 series shipments in the same period. Globally, the top five countries for iPhone 17 series volumes in Q4 2025 were China, the USA, the United Kingdom, Japan and Germany.

The iPhone 17 series accounted for 93% of all iPhone shipments in China in Q4 2025, significantly higher than the 84% contribution in the U.S. and ahead of all other markets worldwide. This highlights the exceptional commercial success of the new generation of iPhones in the world’s largest smartphone market.

SAG also observed a clear premiumization trend. Higher-capacity 512GB and 1TB variants represented a much larger share of shipments compared with the previous iPhone 16 generation, both in China and globally. This richer mix of premium models and memory configurations substantially lifted iPhone average selling prices (ASP) and revenue performance during the quarter.

SAG believes the combination of compelling hardware upgrades, balanced and disciplined pricing, well-judged memory configurations, and strong channel promotions delivered a banner quarter for the iPhone 17 series in China.
